CHOOSING YOUR SPOUSE

Success in marriage depends largely on who you marry. Those who are not yet married should be careful in choosing their spouse and must be God’s perfect will for you. You must depend on God to lead you to the right person. Proverbs 19:14, says “Houses and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.”[NKJV] You should trust God to help you to marry someone that will be compactable with you. You should pray earnestly and your focus should not only be on physical attraction, money, possession, education and family status. These things are temporary. They can change. But when you focus more on spiritual virtues, things that are permanent. Then be sure you are on your way to having a healthy home. These are virtues you should look at for while praying and trusting God:

THE IMPORTANCE OF A HEALTHY HOME

Genesis 3:8 “And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.” (NKJV)

(1)              This scripture shows that God came down to fellowship with Adam and Eve, until sin came, until they had crisis. They no longer have the peace and joy they were having. Hence, they hid them selves when they heard the voice of God. The result was that they lost the fellowship they were having with God as a couple and as individual. Therefore you can not have good relationship with God if the home is not healthy. The presence of God cannot be in the home where crisis, anger, bitterness, un-forgiveness and other vices prevails.
